When we left Lady Isle, the wind swung round to the SE and increased with a dramatic fall in temperature. Nearly 4 hours before, the Clyde Coastguard weather MSI broadcast had warned of gale force winds from the SE, expected imminent.

 Yikes! Time to get home. By the time we approached the harbour wall at Troon Point our hands were freezing in the biting wind.

New Smyrna Beach, Fla – Night seven in the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing is one to be forgotten by the two Quebec competitors... meanwhile a couple Ontario drivers celebrate with a 1-2 finish in the Crate / Late Model ranks.   Shaun McWhirter who started on the pole led flag to flag.  He was followed across the line by fellow Ontario driver Cole Powell and Nathan Russell finished third.

 

Martin Lautilippe qui partait deuxième dans la finale de 25 tours a bien fait pour la première moitié de l’épreuve demeurant en deuxième place.  Cependant la tenue de route de la voiture #84 s’est dégradée et Latulippe a rétrogradé jusqu’au neuvième rang.   Du côté de Kevin Roberge, qui partait sixième, ce ne fut guère mieux, il n’a jamais montré la puissance qu’il avait lors des autres épreuves.  Roberge a terminé sixième.

Martin Latulippe started on the outside of row ran very well for the first half of the 25 lap feature, but his handling went away for the second half and fell back in the in the field finishing a disappointing ninth place.   Kevin Roberge, who was sixth on the starting grid, didn’t fare much better.  He could not move up in the field and show that same strength he did on previous nights and finished sixth.

 

Une heure après que le tech soit fermé, les deux québécois demeuraient les deux seules équipes toujours à la piste.   Du côté de Roberge le champion ARCA et pilote de camionnette Mario Gosselin s’affairait du côté de la suspension avant pour y trouver un bris ou un désalignement.   Du côté de Latulippe ont a trouvé un problème d’attache de barre antiroulis et ont remplaçait les ressorts de valve de moteur.   Latulippe qui menait au classement par 38 points avant l’épreuve sur Roberge aura vu son avance fondre à 24 points.    Le classement est donc : Latullipe 230 pts, Roberge 206pts, Jerick Johnson 202 pts, Zach Germain 154pts, Nathan Russell 150 pts.

One hour after tech was closed the two Quebec teams were the only ones left in the pits.   In the Roberge camp ARCA Champ and Truck Driver Mario Gosselin was checking out the front end of the car for a possible break or misalignment.   Meanwhile a couple hundread feet further Latulippe found a problem with the sway bar that was binding the suspension and work to replace valve spring had just begun.   Latulippe who came in as the points leader by 38 points over Roberge saw his lead reduced to only 24 points.   The leaderboard after the event is now: Latullipe 230 pts, Roberge 206pts, Jerick Johnson 202 pts, Zach Germain 154pts, Nathan Russell 150 pts.

ACT NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY SPEEDWEEKS VISIT A SUCCESS                   For Immediate Release                                        ACT – 021711-11           Waterbury, VT – The 28 teams and officials of the American Canadian Tour (ACT) who participated last Sunday and Monday nights in 100 lap events at the New Smyrna Speedway (NSS) in Florida, universally gave a resounding ‘thumbs up’ to the experience.

 

The $35,000.00 inaugural Goodyear Speedweek Cup saw twenty eight (28) American Canadian Tour (ACT) teams from throughout the Northeastern United States and two Provinces of Quebec and Ontario present what many determined to be the most competitive events in years.   “The strong car count and the ACT rules package really provided an outstanding couple of 100 lap events,” said Tom Curley, President of the American Canadian Tour. “The “northern style” heats, double file restarts, and inversion of the field for the finale was met with lots of enthusiasm by fans in the stands and from lots of other racers in the pits. We were certainly a bit nervous taking on this project, but the teams should all be proud of their results. Both 100 lappers had great racing from first down through the field and the teams should be proud of their effort,” Curley concluded.   The Goodyear Speedweek Cup was presented on NSS’s fast high-banked ½ mile in front of a very enthusiastic crowd each night. Both races took less than an hour to run from start to finish, few yellow flags, and very exciting position racing.   Winner of the first 100 lap event and the overall Goodyear Cup, Joey Polewarcyk, Jr. (Pole) from Hudson, NH said, “I had one of the best times I have had racing when Patrick (Laperle) and I were able to break out during the Sunday night race. We traded the lead five times and with only three cautions I knew that I could not just ride around and wait for the end, not with Patrick who is ‘flat out’ all the time! I knew that if we had another yellow, Patrick would have the advantage as the outside lane was definitely the place to be on this track. Monday was different for us. The racing was so intense in the middle and at the front with the inversion; my tires were just about spent when I got to the front. I feel lucky to have won the overall points for the Goodyear Cup.” (Points and bonus money were counted and paid by combining finishes for both events). Pole, winning in an ACT Ford crate also received $250 bonus from the ACT Blue Oval $35,000 contingency program. His total earnings for the event were over $4,500.00.   “I knew we had a successful event when I attended the RPM Promoter’s National Convention in Daytona Beach on Tuesday morning”, said Darla Hartt, Vice President and General Manager of ACT. “Tom (Curley) and I were greeted by lots of promoters and industrial people from around the country who had very positive reviews of the two nights of racing our teams put on at the New Smyrna Speedway. It was somewhat of a gamble for us, our teams, and the management of New Smyrna, but it appears to have paid off from all the great comments we received. We really want to thank Robert Hart (promoter at the NSS), and all the staff and officials who made our trip so memorable,” concluded Hartt.   Next up for the American Canadian Tour is the first points race of the 2011 season at the Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH on Sunday, April 17th with the annual running of the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150. New Smyrna Beach, Fla - Il aura fallu attendre la sixième soirée des 45e World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing de 2011 pour avoir un pilote québécois dans le cercle des vainqueurs. Kevin Roberge a remporté la finale de 25 tours après être parti de la 4e place sur la grille. Il a été suivi à l’arrivée de Jerick Johnson et de Nathan Russell. Martin Latulippe a terminé quant à lui a rallié le fil d’arrivé en cinquième place juste derrière John Nutley.

New Smyrna Beach, Fla – We had to wait for the sixth night of competition in the 2011 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car to see a Quebec driver in victory lane. Kevin Roberge won the 25 laps feature after starting from the fourth starting position. He was followed across the line by Jerick Johnson and Nathan Russell. Martin Latulippe would finish fifth behind John Nutley.

En début d’épreuve, lors de la 2e relance, Kevin Roberge est venu bien proche d’échapper sa voiture et de l’envoyer dans le mur. « Mes pneus ne devaient pas être bien nettoyés et quand j’ai embarqué sur l’accélérateur l’arrière c’est dérobée. L’arrière valsait tout le long du droit et j’ai faissé dans le 81 de [Andrew] Gressel et je m’en excuse. Si il y avait eu un accident ce serait de ma faute » indiquait Roberge. Après 2 tours de complétés, à la relance, les voitures de Dakota Stephens et de Mike Mazzagatti se sont touchés et ont parti en dérapage devant le peloton débutant un carambolage monstre qui aura vu la voiture de Gus Dean se retrouver en bien fâcheuse position sur le côté.

Early in the race, at the second restart, Kevin Roberge came very close of wrecking when he momentarily lost control of his car. “I must not of cleaned my tires well and when I stomped the gas the rear end started to slip all along the front stretch. I hit the 81 of [Andrew] Gressel several times and I am sorry for that. Had there been an accident it would have been totally my fault” said Roberge. After 2 laps in the event, after a restart, the cars of Dakota Stephens and Mike Mazzagatti touched and were sent into a slide just in front of the field starting a huge pile up that resulted in Gus Dean’s automobile sitting on its side against the turn two wall.

Nous venons de prendre une sérieuse option sur la deuxième place derrière Martin [Latulippe] » déclara Kevin Roberge. « Ont avait une voiture pour se battre, mais j’ai choisit de jouer safe quand j’ai vu Russell et Johnson forcer. Nos objectifs ont bien entendu changé et ont vise le championnat. Ont aimerait tout de même remporter une épreuve en croisant le fil d’arrivé en premier » conclua Martin Latulippe. Latulippe mène le classement avec 222 points devant Roberge et ses 186 points. Johnson 174 points, Zach Germain 142 points et Austin Kirkpatrick 138 points complètent le top 5 du championnat. After several minutes to remove Gus Dean’s car, for the restart both Quebec drivers Kevin Roberge and Martin Latulippe were side by side. Roberge used the advantage of the outside line to pull in front of Latulippe, a position he would not give up for the reminder of the event. “We had a great car. I was nervous after the incident between Stephens and Mazzagatti, I didn’t know if the air dam was blocked or not. Finally it was more scare than harm. I am very happy with this win. As the one before goes back to my sportsman days. We just consolidated our second position in the championship behind Martin [Latulippe] which is very good news” said Kevin Roberge. “We had a car to fight for position, but I chose to play it safe when I saw Russell and Johnson put on the pressure. Our objectives have of course changed and we now have our sights set on winning the championship. Meanwhile I would still like to cross the stripe in first place” concluded Martin Latulippe. Latulippe continues to lead the championship with his 222 points ahead of Roberge with 186 points. Johnson 174 points, Zach Germain 142 points and Austin Kirkpatrick 138 points complete the top five in the rankings. New Smyrna Beach, FLA - La cinquième soirée de compétition à New Smyrna Speedway mettait en vedette les Tour Type Modifieds avec un 30 tours et en marge les Crate / Late Models.

 

L'américain Jerick Johnson a pris le départ de la position de commande mais a vite été dépassé par Cole Powell de Mt Brydges, Ontario.   Powell a maintenu le cap et a rapidement creusé l'écart avec les autres.  Malgré 7 relances, aucun des autres pilotes en avait pour Powell qui a croisé le fil le premier en piste, mais l'œil vigilant de l'inspecteur technique Ricky Brooks a confirmé ce que plusieurs doutaient sont moteur était non conforme.   Le québécois Martin Latulippe qui s'était élancé de la deuxième ligne en 4e position a roulé dans le top 3 toute la course, même qu'il aura passé plus de temps en deuxième position.  Avec la disqualification de Powell il est crédité avec la victoire.  Sa troisième en quatre soir de compétition pour les Crate / Late Models.   Kevin Roberge qui partait en dixième place n'a pu avancer dans le peloton en première moitié d'épreuve de 25 tours.  Il  a cependant capitalisé sur un important carambolage qu'il là fait remonter au 7e rang.   Jerick Johnson qui était deuxième au classement derrière Latulippe a terminé quatrième dans la finale, lui non plus n'a pas passé l'inspection technique.  Avec cette disqualification, il dégringolera au classement.   Une autre victime d'accident ce soir est Jared Marks qui était troisième au classement avant l'épreuve.  Il marquera seulement 4 points.   Avec les accidents et les disqualifications Latulippe consolide sont avance au sommet du classement.  Officieusement Latulippe a maintenant 198 points,  Keving Roberge passerait  au deuxième rang avec 146 points, Johnson au troisième rang avec 138 points, quatrième Kirkpatrick avec 134 points et Jared Marks avec 110 points.   Si la cédule prévoit des courses ce soir, un 50 tour modifié et entre autre un 25 tours Crate / Late Models il pleut présentement.  Nous ferons tout de même une diffusion à compter de 19h pour vous tenir au courant.  Vous pouvez suivre à : http://roy-motorsports.com/Roy_Motorsports_-_VIDEO.html

New Smyrna Beach, Fla - Brian Hoar remporte le deuxime 100 tours pour voiture ACT à New Smyrna Speedway dans le cadre de Speedweeks 2011. Mark Lamberton et l’ontarien Jonathna Urlin complètent le podium.

Deux pilotes ne sont pas revenus à la compétition aujourd’hui. Soit Joey Laquerre qui a été impliqué dans un violent accident et qui là forcé à se retirer. Le deuxième a été Kevin Roberge qui s’est vu informé par les officiels d’ACT qu’il ne pourrait pas prendre le départ puisqu’il avait manqué la réunion des pilotes. « Je participe à deux classes et les puits sont à des endroits vraiment différent. La voiture ACT est à l’extérieur de la piste, tandis que le Crate / Late Model est au centre. Je travaillais sur ma voiture Crate et quand est venu le temps de traverser je ne pouvais pas le faire » déclara Roberge.

Two drivers did not return to competition today. Joey Laquerre who was involved in a crash and totalled his racecar had to forfeit from competition. And Kevin Roberge was informed by ACT Officials, that since he missed the driver’s meeting he would not be able to take part of the second race. “I am competing in two classes and we are pitting in different locations. While the ACT car is outside the race track, the Crate / Late Model is in the inside. I was working on my Crate car and when I had to cross over there were cars on the track and I could not go over” said Roberge.

La grille de départ était déterminer par l’inversion des 18 première positions à l’arrivée de la première finale. Aaron Fellows et Spencer MacPherson partaient à l’avant. Fellows aura mené le premier tour. MacPherson a pris les commandes au 2e passage et mena jusqu’au 12e circuit. Effectuant un retour à la compétition ACT après quelques années sur la terre battue, Mike Bruno a pris les commandes de l’épreuve au treizième tour. Jonathan Urlin qui en avait arraché dans la première course a travaillé très fort sur la tenue de route de la voiture. Ça marché, il a mené deux fois soit du 39 au 67e passage et du 68 au 71e passage. Il terminera troisième. Mark Lamberton a pris le départ en 14e place a remonté rapidement pour se hisser dans le top 5 pour la majeur partie de la course. Il a terminé deuxième. Hoar qui a terminé sixième dans le premier 100 tours, ne démontrait pas sa puissance habituelle. Naviguant dans le groupe à partir de sa treizième place au départ, il a pris la tête au soixante-douzième tour et ne là jamais concédée. « Quand nous avons déchargée la voiture, nous n’étions pas là. Nous avons travaillé très dur en pratique, je suis gonflé à bloc. C’est exactement ce qu’on avait comme objectif. Nous avons tous donné pour remporter la coupe, félicitations à Joey Polewarczyk. Mais surtout félicitations à mon équipe » déclara Hoar. Joey Polewarzyck a remporté le premier 100 tours la veille, cette fois il aura mené un seul tour et a terminé cinquième. Ce qui fut suffisant pour remporter la coupe ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup. « Je croyais que l’on avait une voiture pour l’emporter. Les gars ont fait tout un travail pour me donner une si bonne voiture. Je savais que j’aurais une chance avec une relance à la fin, mais j’ai vraiment utilisé la machine en remontant le peloton comme je l’ai fais. Mais nous avons fait ce qu’il fallait pour remporter la première Coupe ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup » déclara Pole. Le champion ACT Castrol 2010, Karl Allard n’a pas réussi à améliorer son finish en terminant huitième. Patrick Laperle qui a fini côte-à-côte avec Allard s’est fait battre par quelques courses. Laperle qui a remonté dans le top 5 en moins de 41 tours après être parti 17e semblait en route pour un podium. Cependant après la mi-course, il a visité les puits lors d’un ralentissement pour ce qu’il croyait à se moment là être une crevaison. Il terminera neuvième. « Nous sommes venus ici pour l’emporter. Tout autre résultat est décevant pour nous » a dit Laperle. Quand nous lui avons demander à propos de la visite aux puits, fidèle à son habitude nous avons eu une réponse colorée : « Goodyear ne sait pas comment faire des pneus. Nous étions une des première équipe à piger et il n’y avait pas de choix. Alors nous avons essayer de les agrandir pour obtenir le stagger nécessaire. Ça na pas marché. Alors, sur le jaune nous avons baissé les pressions d’air. On savait qu’ont ne pouvaient plus l’emporter sans faire un changement drastique. » Le champion 2007 et 2009, Donald Theege a terminé douzième. Alex Labbé a terminé une décevante vingt-et-unième place. « Je crois que nous avions une voiture pour un top cinq. On s’est fait tassé et sa rendue la voiture instable. Je ne crois pas que Donald [Theetge] savait que j’étais là, mais s’il le savait c’est pas très sportif » a déclaré Labbé.

The field’s stating positions was set by virtue of an inversion of the top 18 finishing positions from the first 100 laps event. Aaron Fellows and Spencer MacPherson started on the front row. Fellows would lead the first lap. MacPherson would take over and lead from lap 2 to lap 12. Returning to ACT competition after spending some time dirt racing, Mike Bruno showed some strength and took the lead on lap 13. Jonathan Urlin who struggled in last night’s 100 lapper worked feverishly on the car’s setup. It worked for them, he would lead ltwice from lap 39 to lap 67 and from 68 to 71. He would go on to finish third. Mark Lamberton who started 14th moved rapidly to the front and stayed in the top five most of the night. He finished second. Hoar who finished 6th in the first 100 laps event the evening before, has not shown his usual dominance. Moving up thru the field from his 13th place starting position he claimed the lead on lap 72 and never relinquished it for the win. “When we unloaded here, we were junk. We worked really hard in practice, and I'm pumped. This is what we came down here to do. We did everything we could to bring (the overall championship) home, but congrats to (Joey Polewarczyk Jr.). But congrats to all my guys, too. This was just awesome“ declared Hoar. Joey Polewarzyck who won the first 100 laps event the evening before and lead only one lap in the feature tonight. But his fifth place finish was good enough to win the overall inaugural ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup. “I really thought we had the car to win tonight. The guys really put one heck of a setup under it. I knew we'd have a good shot on (a late restart), but I really used my stuff up coming up from the back. But we did what we had to do to win the first-ever ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup, so that's was pretty cool” declared Pole. Patrick Hamel posted the best finish by a Quebec driver finishing in sixth place. Hamel who was disappointed with his finish the night before finished just outside his goal of a top 5. The 2010 ACT Castrol Champion, Karl Allard could not improve his finish in the second 100 lapper and finished in 8th place. Patrick Laperle who finished side by side with Allard was edged out by inches. Laperle who cracked the top 5 in only forty laps after starting deep in the field from his 17th position was marching to a podium finish. Unfortunately on a late caution, he visited the pits for what he thought was a flat tire. He would finish ninth. “We came here to win. Anything short is disappointing for us” said Laperle. When asked about pitting under yellow, his response was colourful as usual: “Goodyear doesn’t know how to make tires. We were one of the first teams to pick for tires. There was just no choice. So we tried stretching them in order to get the stagger we would need for the race. It didn’t work. So we ended up taking air out to cure the poor handling condition. We were not going to win it was do or die.” The 2007 and 2009 Castrol Champion Donald Theetge finished twelve. Alex Labbé finished a disappointing twenty-first position. “I think we had a car to finish top five. We got moved and it just junked the car. I don’t think Donald knew I was there, but if he did that was a cheap shot on his part as it could have cost us a car” said Labbé.

Yvon “la galette” Bédard a pris le départ de l’épreuve en troisième place et a réussi à rouler dans le top dix toute la soirée et semblait en route pour une belle fin de course. « La voiture était très bonne. Nous avons fait contact avec Jacob McGrath. ACT nous a donné le noir pour la fumée sous la voiture. Ils penssait que nous étions après défoncer le moteur. C’étais le pneu contre la carosserie. Nous avons perdu trois tours à cause de cela. Ceci met un terme aux courses ACT en Floride. Mais l’action continue ce soir pour les autres classes du World Series of Asphalt Stock Car. “The bullet” Yvon Bédard who started third managed to stay in the top ten all evening and was showing signs of a great finish. “The car was great until we made contact with Jacob McGrath. Then ACT black flagged us for smoking. They thought we were blowing up or engine. It was a fender rubbing the right front. We lost three laps because of that.” This concludes the ACT races in Florida. But the action continues as part of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car. Pour diffusion immédiate (15-02-11 -04)                                             Goodyear speedweeks Cup à New Smyrna   VICTOIRE DE BRIAN HOAR ET JOEY POLE L’EMPORTE AU CUMULATIF DES DEUX FINALES   Après avoir accepté le départ de la 13e position, Brian Hoar, le multiple champion de l’American-Canadian Tour et détenteur du plus grand nombre de victoires dans ce championnat américain, a remporté la deuxième et dernière manche de cette courte visite à la piste New Smyrna en Floride. Le vainqueur qui a pris la commande lors de la dernière de sept relances au 72e tour, a eu le meilleur devant son compatriote Mark Lamberton et l’Ontarien, Jontahan Urlin.

 

Vainqueur la veille, Joey Polewarczyk, en se classant cinquième a mérité les grands honneurs au combiné devant Hoar, Lamberton, Wayne Helliwell Jr. et Patrick Laperle.   Le pilote de St-Denis-sur-Richelieu, même si durant les essais libres avait été le plus rapide, n’a pas été en mesure de rivaliser avec les premiers lors de cette course. Après s’être fait dépasser par Polewarczyk, Patrick, malgré une voiture survireuse, a été en mesure de remonter parmi les cinq premiers avant de visiter son puits pour des ajustements au 67e passage. De retour en piste en 18e place, il a été le neuvième à rallier la ligne d’arrivée.   Patrick Hamel de Ste-Croix-de-Lotbinière a été le meilleur des six pilotes québécois avec une sixième position. Il a roulé parmi les cinq premiers durant la majeure partie de la confrontation tandis que pour une deuxième fois d’affilée, Karl Allard, le champion de la série ACT-Castrol, s’est classé huitième.   Dixième, la veille, Donald Theetge a pris la 12e place.   Dérapage Après avoir attiré l’attention la veille avec une solide troisième place, les choses ont été un peu plus difficiles pour le jeune Alex Labbé, la recrue de la série ACT-Castrol. Seizième au départ, Labbé a effectué une remontée parmi les dix premiers avant d’être victime d’un tête-à-queue au 67e tour. Lors de sa visite aux puits, il a perdu un tour pour finalement terminer la soirée en 26e place. Pour sa part, le vétéran Yvon Bédard a connu beaucoup d’ennuis. Avec quelques visites à son puits, il a perdu trois tours pour terminer 23e.  Cette finale qui a été disputée en 56,12 minutes, a été ponctuée de sept ralentissements. Six pilotes différents ont détenu le poste de commande dont Jonathan Urlin en deux occasions.   Notes… Après l’épreuve de dimanche soir, Eddie MacDonald est demeuré dans les puis pour aider son équipe à changer le moteur de sa Chevrolet Impala. Aujourd’hui (lundi), lors des essais libres, MacDonald a également connu de piètres résultats, ne parvenant pas à inscrire un temps parmi les dix premiers. . . . . . . . En matinée, Kevin Roberge de Lévis a été exclu de la finale de lundi soir en raison de son absence à la rencontre des pilotes  en matinée. . . . . . . . Après avoir lourdement endommagé sa Ford Fusion, Joey Laquerre a du se contenter de tenir le rôle de spectateur lors de cette deuxième manche. . . . . . . . Patrick Laperle a dominé deux des trois séances d’essais libres alors que l’autre est allée à Brian Hoar. ACT RESULTS : Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. Claims Goodyear Speedweeks Cup Title

Brian Hoar Wins Second 100 Lap Event FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                         ACT-021411 New Smyrna, FL – Hudson, New Hampshire’s Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. worked his way through heavy traffic from his 18th starting position to finish 5th in the second round of the Goodyear Speedweeks Cup at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna, Florida on Monday, February 14. The fifth place effort along with his win in Sunday’s 100 lapper earned him the low score of six points, just edging out seven-time ACT Late Model Tour Champion Brian Hoar who earned seven points in the Goodyear Speedweeks Cup standings.

 

Hoar of Williston, Vermont took the win in Monday night’s feature after starting 13th. Mark Lamberton of Mooers Forks, New York used a second place effort to claim third in the overall standings. In the final 100 lapper Jonathan Urlin of London, Ontario, Lee USA Speedway Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Dover, New Hampshire, and Polewarczyk completed the top five. Quebec’s Patrick Hamel, Massachusetts Eddie MacDonald, Quebecers Karl Allard and Patrick Laperle and Florida’s Pete Potvin rounded out the top ten. The early stages of the event saw Goodyear Speedweeks Cup Standing leaders Polewarczyk, Laperle, Quebec’s Alex Labbé, Lamberton and Helliwell battle their way to the front. The outside groove appeared to be the fast lane as they worked their way to the front. Labbé fell out of contention after bouncing off the wall about midway through the event and lost a lap on pit road. Laperle made a pit stop for an adjustment while running in the top ten after the halfway mark and couldn’t make it back to the front. In the overall Goodyear Speedweeks Cup standings, Polewarczyk and Hoar were followed by Lamberton, Helliwell and Laperle in the top five. Urlin, MacDonald, Allard, Hamel, and Quebec’s Donald Theetge completed the top ten. Monday’s event was completed in 56 minutes and 12 seconds with seven total cautions. The lead was swapped seven times among six drivers. The American Canadian Tour’s first trip to the 2011 Goodyear Speedweeks Cup at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna, Florida has come to a close with Monday’s event. The ACT stars will have several months off before their seasons begin. The ACT Late Model Tour’s season opener will be Sunday, April 17 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, New Hampshire, while the Série Castrol Edge will kick off its season on Saturday, May 21 at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, Quebec.
