Airborne track champions for the four-cylinder Mini-Modified and Bomber divisions will be determined by 25-lap features Saturday, September 11. Sportsman and Renegade qualifying heats and ACT Late Model and Modified practice will also take place Saturday.
The Steve Park Driving Experience will be on the premises for two-seater race car rides on a pre-registration basis Friday, September 10 from 5 –6 p.m. and Saturday September 11 from 10 a.m.-noon. To register, call the race track office –518-561-3208.
Airborne has arranged for a bus trip to the Mohawk Casino that departs from the track at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 11 and returns at midnight. | En effet, Sylvain Brouillette, le directeur général de cette piste, a passé de nombreuses heures au téléphone afin de former la grille de départ de cette course hors championnat. Au moment de rédiger ces lignes, seize d’entre eux avaient répondu dans l’affirmative alors quelques autres ont fait part de leur incertitude, mais n’ont pas refusé l’invitation. Le vétéran Yvon Bédard (avec deux voitures), Patrick Cliche, Kevin Roberge, Dany Trépanier, Dany Gagnon, Patrick Hamel, Junior Collard, Martin Latulippe, Jonathan Desbiens, Philippe Jeannotte, Jacques Poulin, Gaétan Lauzier, Éric Giguère ainsi que Stéphane Durand et Thierry Parpal ont tous accepté d’être au rendez-vous alors qu’actuellement les indécis sont les frères Daniel et Stéphane Descoste, Daniel Bergeron, Claude Leclerc, Éric Lehoux, David Michaud et Jimmy Cormier. En l’absence des cinq premiers au cumulatif de la série ACT-Castrol Edge, les amateurs qui assisteront à ce qui devrait être le dernier programme de stock-car de la saison à ce tracé de Lotbinière, sont assurés d’applaudir un nouveau pilote dans le cercle des vainqueurs. Parmi les favoris de la première heure en raison de leur prestation au cours de la dernière saison, il faut retenir les noms de Desbiens, Poulin, Hamel qui sont parmi les dix premiers au cumulatif Castrol. Samedi, les deux catégories seront réunies dans une autre confrontation de 100 tours qui sera précédée selon les informations obtenues sur le site de ce championnat, d’essais chronométrés. Actuellement en division Élite, Sylvain Labbé de St-Joseph-de-Beauce est installé au premier rang avec 430 points. Il devance par la faible marge de 13 points, Steeve Lesage de Pont-Rouge qui a récolté sa troisième victoire de la saison à sa dernière présence sur le tracé du circuit Ste-Croix/Riverside Speedway, le 13 août dernier. Avec seulement un retard de six points sur Lesage, on retrouve le vétéran Réjean Blanchet de Québec. Également, Karl Drouin, Dany Poulin, tous deux de Vallée-Jonction ainsi que Jimmy Nadeau de Beauceville et Steeve Malouin Mckibbin de Lévis, sont bien loin d’avoir lancé la serviette. C’est encore plus corsé en division Intermédiaire alors que Daniel Sylvain de St-Georges-de-Beauce n’a que deux points de priorité devant Christopher Daigle de Neuville qui lui, devance Gerry Bilodeau de La Guadeloupe par trois. Donc, ce n’est qu’un écart de cinq points entre les trois premiers et de 14 entre les cinq premiers. Pierre-Luc Labbé de St-Joseph, le gagnant à sa dernière présence sur le tracé de Lotbinière, est quatrième avec un mince retard de sept points sur le meneur. On peut donc s’attendre à beaucoup d’action lors de cette finale de 100 tours. Classes locales Trois des classes locales seront présentes lors de ce programme de stock-car Invitation LMS. Les pilotes de la catégorie ProCam en seront à leur troisième présence sur ce tracé de 5/8 de mille. En juillet dernier, les amateurs avaient été témoins de la domination complète de Dany Gagnon alors que lors de la Can-Am 200, Steve Lavigne et Yannick Mathieu s’étaient partagé la besogne. Au cumulatif, c’est actuellement Mathieu qui domine avec 195 points, 10 de mieux qu’Alain Nadeau et 14 de plus que Lavigne. Lors du dernier rendez-vous, il y avait 13 participants et l’on aimerait se rendre à 15. En Sport Compact, on a disputé trois programmes jusqu’à maintenant, soit cinq finales. Dany Lemay est installé au premier échelon du cumulatif avec 236 points, soit seulement une avance d’un point devant Sylvain Carrier qui lui précède Mario Roy par dix points. Jimmy Roy avec 219 et Rock Hamel avec 200 complètent le peloton des cinq premiers. Jusqu’à maintenant, cinq pilotes ont paradé dans le cercle de vainqueurs, soit, Robin Harrison, Sylvain Carrier, Jean-François Lemay, Dany Lemay et Mario Roy. Qui de ceux-ci pourra devenir le premier à réussir le doublé ou les amateurs verront-ils un sixième coureur dans le cercle des vainqueurs ? Grâce à ses deux victoires lors du dernier programme, Bruno Laverdière domine au classement en catégorie Kamikaze avec un dossier de 338 points, 26 de plus que Jacques Gingras qui détient cette position grâce à sa régularité et 27 de mieux que Marc Fournier. Nelson Boucher qui compte trois succès est huitième, mais il n’était pas présent lors de la première épreuve. Quant à Donald Theetge de Québec, il est un double champion de la série ACT-Castrol et la recrue Alex Labbé de St-Lambert ont été choisi à la suite des essais qui ont été tenus à cet endroit, il y a quelques semaines. Cette année, cette épreuve qui regroupera 43 pilotes de l’ACT aura lieu la même journée des épreuves NASCAR Modified Whelen et Camping World Series dans le cadre du Sylvania 300. « Cette course INVITATIONAL est très attendue par plusieurs équipes de la Nouvelle-Angleterre et des provinces de Québec et l’Ontario. We had two great days of testing this month, with over 70 teams spending two days at the ‘Magic Mile’. Now the hard part of determining who will make up the 43-team roster begins. Autodrome Drummond - résultats du 28 août
| Soirée parfaite pour Steve Poirier avec deux victoires en autant de sorties. Drummondville, Qc 29 août 2010-Steve Bertrand, directeur des communications. Samedi soir, les amateurs de course ont assisté à quelques premières sur le tracé de l'autodrome Drummond. Plusieurs voitures étaient au rendez-vous pour cette soirée ESS sous la commandite de Subway. |
| En début de soirée, on se devait de terminer la finale du 5 juin dernier chez les ESS. Vingt et une voitures ont pris le départ de cette finale de vingt-cinq tours. Chuck Hebing s'empare des commandes de l'épreuve en début de course, mais au 8e tour, alors que ce dernier et Poirier lutte pour la tête, un retardataire s'interpose entre les deux à l'entée de la courbe #1. Poirier et Hanson se touche et la voiture du retardataire Hanson déporte vers l'extérieur allant toucher Hebing qui lui roulait de l'extérieur, résultat course termine pour Chuck Hebing qui était en tête depuis le début de l'épreuve. Lors de la relance a l'entrée de la courbe #3 la voiture de Jeff Cook frappe le mur et effectue quelques tonneaux. Le reste de l'épreuve demeure l'affaire e Steve Poirier qui signe sa 1re victoire à Drummondville en sprint-car. Pour le programme régulier des ESS, pas moins de vingt-neuf voitures se sont présentées et on a gardé les vingt-trois plus rapides pour la finale. Plusieurs voitures voulaient se suivre dans le bas de la piste, mais vers la mi-course on a vu Bergeron allait emprunter le haut du circuit et ça semblait être très rapide. Malheureusement pour lui il a causé une neutralisation avec quelques tours à faire, on a dû partir de l'arrière pour Bergeron. Steve Poirier et le jeune Kevin Ward jr on employé la même stratégie en utilisant le haut du circuit. Steve Poirier s'est emparé de la tête pour ne jamais regarder derrière, suivi sur le podium de Hebing et Ward jr. En classe sportsman, excellent spectacle avec la victoire de Jacques Pelletier, qui a effectué une très belle manœuvre pour prendre les commandes. Du côté de la classe pro-stock, Joey Ladouceur l'a emporté et chez les lightning-sprint victoire de Mathieu Bourgouin. Top-5 ESS :S. Poirier,J. | For Immediate Release: Media contact Norm Desjardins @ (603) 387-5598 Jimmy Weller Breaks through at SoBo for first PASS South Victory Naples, ME 8/29/10- Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South fans that have followed the series’ super late model cars and stars over the past two seasons saw a racer come into his own Saturday night at South Boston (VA) Speedway when Jimmy Weller scored his first PASS super late model victory in the PASS SoBo 150 |
| Weller has made big strides all season long and he was able to seal the deal by surviving a lap 135 restart alongside teammate Ryan Blaney. Veteran Jay Fogleman rounded out the podium with his third place run. Blaney’s runner up finish was enough to move him atop the championship point standings after Preston Peltier, who entered the night as the point leader, struggled his way to a tenth place finish after getting caught up in an incident around the event’s half way point. Weller made his weekend look easy as his #23 machine was not only the quickest car on the track at the end of a 150 laps, but it was just as quick in his two timed laps in Pro Photo Productions qualifying, setting fast time with ease. After the series mandatory top ten redraw Shark Racing Development team mates Steve Legendre and Jay Fogleman sat on the front row. Legendre jumped out to an early lead on the field until three time PASS South winner “Highside” Andy Loden made his move, passing three cars in one lap on the outside to move into the top spot. Lodens’ reign out front was short lived as mechanical woes spoiled a great run on lap sixty three. Once Loden was sidelined it was all Dave Blaney Racing machines at the front of the field with both Ryan Blaney and Jimmy Weller swapping the lead. Blaney opened up a sizeable lead over his teammate at the 100 lap mark, but Weller had the better handling car and ran down Blaney, retaking the lead for good on lap 128.8. One final restart with fifteen laps remaining was Weller’s last challenge came on a lap 135 restart but Weller would not be denied and he earned his first PASS checkered by .602 seconds over team mate Blaney. Trey Mitchell continued to build upon a strong season with his fourth place finish and Clay Jones came all the way from the back of the field for a solid fifth. Heath Hindman, Devon Jones, Steve Legendre, Ryan Moore and Preston Peltier came home sixth through tenth. PASS South brings North Wilkesboro Speedway alive on Saturday September 4th when the series brings short track stock car racing back to the historic speedway after a 14 year absence. | Showdown Budweiser 200 à l’Autodrome Chaudière Les milliers de spectateurs qui ont assisté à la troisième édition du Showdown Budweiser 200, samedi à l’Autodrome Chaudière de Vallée-Jonction ont certainement été témoins d’une performance hors de l’ordinaire de Patrick Laperle de St-Denis-sur-Richelieu au volant de sa Ford Fusion/JPN Racing. Laperle a non seulement facilement dominé 167 des 200 tours de l’épreuve, mais il s’est permis de dépasser tout le peloton de ses adversaires à l’exception de Donald Theetge de Québec, le pilote de la Chevrolet Impala/V Télé et l’américain Brian Hoar. Il est à se demander ce qui serait survenu s’il avait bénéficié de 25 tours de plus…. |
| Malheureusement, malgré les efforts de Laperle et Theetge, ce sont les représentants américains qui l’ont emporté pour une troisième année d’affilée par le compte de 143 à 157. Il va sans dire que Laperle était plus que satisfait de sa prestation alors que ses deux principaux rivaux auraient bien aimé un drapeau jaune dans la deuxième moitié de l’épreuve, mais le troisième et dernier est survenu au 78 passage. À noter que Theetge avait pris le départ de la huitième position alors que Hoar accompagnait Laperle sur la première rangée de la grille. Au départ, Hoar a immédiatement annoncé ses couleurs en s’accaparant la première place avant le premier tour. Il a mené jusqu’au 32e avec un Patrick Laperle plus que menaçant à ses cotés. À la première relance, Laperle a repris la place qu’il avait mérité pour distancer ses rivaux. A la toute fin, il avait plus d’une demie longueur de piste devant Theetge et Hoar. Cette épreuve a seulement nécessité trois ralentissements et s’est déroulée en 59,47 minutes. Randy Potter et Austin Thériault ont complété le peloton des cinq premiers, mais il ne faudrait pas passer sous silence la performance de Karl Allard de St-Félicien qui a visité son puits au 37e passage. Revenu sur le tracé sans perdre de tour, Allard a effectué une excellente remontée. Il a bataillé farouchement avec Thériault et Potter. En quelques occasions, il avait réussi à se hisser en quatrième à 28 tours de la fin, mais il n’a pu tenir le coup jusqu’à la fin pour ainsi terminer sixième. La jeune recrue Alex Labbé a également connu une excellente sortie pour terminer septième devant Joey Pole, Brent Dragon et Nick Sweet. Tous ces pilotes accusaient un tour de retard. Course Supersportsman du Québec Steve McKibbin de Québec est celui qui a remporté la finale de 60 tours qui regroupait les meilleurs de la série Super Sportsman du Québec. Ce dernier a triomphé aux dépens de François Lessard et Sylvain Labbé, tous deux de St-Joseph-de-Beauce. Finalement, en classe Limité, Stéphane Lecours de Lac Etchemin a gagné les deux finales de 25 tours. Dans la première, Johny Gagné de St-George a pris le deuxième rang devant Pierre Vir de Ste-Rose alors que dans l’autre, Patrick Poulin de Beauceville a pris place sur la deuxième marche du podium et il a été accompagné de Johny Gagné. ASE Résultats: Enfin, un premier gain pour Bouvrette à l'ASE
| Communiqué de presse « Pour publication immédiate » Lors de la reprise de la Coupe BFI à l'autodrome St-Eustache Enfin la première victoire pour ST-EUSTACHE – Il aura fallu patienter jusqu'à la présentation de la dernière course du mois d'août dans la série Sportsman NASCAR Ippersiel avant de voir le champion en titre, Jonathan Bouvrette parader dans le cercle des vainqueurs lors de la deuxième finale de 50 tours après avoir terminé derrière Steve Côté lors de la première samedi à la Coupe BFI à l'autodrome de St-Eustache devant une excellente foule qui a eu droit à une autre soirée de stock-car palpitante. |
| Pourtant, la soirée avait mal commencé pour le pilote de St-Jérôme victime d'une crevaison au dernier tour de sa qualification l'ayant relégué à la dernière place pour le départ de la première épreuve de 50 tours. Mais le jeune Côté, meneur au championnat, était lui aussi dans une situation difficile alors qu'on a dû changer son moteur brisé lors des essais en début de journée. Ce changement a rien changé pour lui. Il est parvenu à s'imposer lors de sa qualification pour se retrouver à nouveau à l'avant pour le départ de ce premier 50 tours marqué par un incident dès le départ avec Dave Coursol; victime d'une trop grande témérité de Martin Goulet qui l'a frappé à l'arrière, le forçant à l'abandon pour la première fois cette saison. Il n'était pas le seul à éprouver des ennuis car Daniel Descoste à son premier départ a dû se retirer après deux tours, Jason Labrosse a vu sa soirée se terminer après 16 tours avec un bris tandis que Normand Beauchamp a passé plus de temps dans les puits que sur la piste. En raison des neutralisations et des incidents, Bouvrette a pu revenir dans le peloton de tête et livrer un magnifique duel avec son jeune adversaire de 19 ans, Steve Côté. Après avoir perdu la position de leader au 49e tour, il a impressionné tout le monde en dépassant Bouvrette par l'extérieur entre les virages 3 et 4 pour ajouter une victoire, très impressionnante celle-là, à sa fiche déjà bien garnie cette saison. « J'avais de la place et j'ai tout donné pour le passer par l'extérieur, » expliquait l'heureux vainqueur après son exploit. « Je ne savais pas qu'il était à l'extérieur de moi, je ne me suis pas méfier et j'étais trop à l'intérieur. Il m'a eu avec une excellente manœuvre de dépassement, » a reconnu Bouvrette beau joueur dans les circonstances. Jean-François Bouvrette, Maxime Pelletier et Benoit Juteau ont complété le premier groupe de cinq. La première Après la courte pause de six minutes entre les deux finales, on a repris la compétition mais cette fois avec les huit premières places inversées, ce qui faisait l'affaire de Juteau et Pelletier qui n'ont pas mis de temps à s'installer à l'avant. Pendant que Bouvrette peinait à remonter le peloton, Steve Côté était plus habile à venir rejoindre les deux meneurs avant de s'engager dans une confrontation musclée avec Maxime Pelletier pendant plusieurs tours en deuxième moitié d'épreuve. Les deux ne se laissaient pas le moindre millimètre d'espace sur la piste, Côté à l'extérieur. Malheureusement pour Pelletier, il a finalement été victime d'un accélérateur coincé qui l'a fait sortir de piste à haute vitesse entre le premier et le deuxième virage. Sa voiture a percuté le mur de protection et il a fallu plusieurs minutes pour sortir le pilote qui a dû être transporté au centre hospitalier pour subir des examens. La voiture a subi des dommages considérables et devra être rebâtie. Pour son comportement un peu trop musclé en piste, Steve Côté a été replacé à l'arrière ce qui a ouvert la porte à Jonathan Bouvrette qui a dépassé Benoit Juteau par l'extérieur à la reprise pour s'envoler vers sa première victoire en 2010. « Il était temps, a reconnu l'heureux gagnant. Finalement j'ai pu disposer d'une voiture qui n'avait pas d'ennuis au niveau du moteur comme lors des courses précédentes. Cela a fait la différence même si ce ne fut pas facile. » Derrière Bouvrette et Juteau, on retrouvait à nouveau Jean-François Bouvrette, Daniel Descoste et le jeune Dave Coursol qui avait pris le départ de l'arrière. La fin de saison promet d'être très intéressante dans cette classe Sportsman NASCAR Ippersiel. Deux fois Demers Depuis le début de la saison, le pilote qui impressionne le plus dans la classe Sport Compact NASCAR Lucas Oil est définitivement Marc-Antoine Demers qui s'est offert deux nouvelles victoires lors de ce programme double. Notamment dans la deuxième course de 25 tours alors qu'il a arraché la victoire à Claude Salois dans le dernier tour. Ce dernier a même été crédité de la deuxième place dans la première manche après une autre disqualification de Paul Jean qui s'est encore fait prendre avec une pièce défectueuse sur sa voiture. Francis Cadieux (5e et 7e) a également été pénalisé par la même infraction lors de l'inspection technique. Soirée de misère pour le vétéran Steve Ladouceur qui n'a pas complété aucune des deux courses même s'il avait emprunté une autre Honda pour la deuxième manche. Il a même perdu la position de commande au championnat face au jeune Dave Coursol (326 points) qui a terminé cette soirée avec deux quatrièmes places derrière Robin Harrisson et Stéphane Gauvreau (290) qu'on retrouve maintenant au deuxième rang du championnat devant Ladouceur (284). Demers suit avec 278 points. Stéphane Caron devant le champion Stéphane Aubin a remporté la victoire en Légende Modifiée ANCA Lettrage Provan; Patrick Leporé en Production ANCA Centre Chiniara/SN; Alain Tardif lors de la première des deux finales en Challenge 4 ANCA Meilleur Ramoneur et Jason Morand lors de la seconde. Le week-end prochain, celui de la Fête du Travail, il y aura un programme complet de stock-car le samedi soir avant les deux journées de « Drift » du populaire championnat canadien le dimanche et le lundi.
